• Dutasteride:  0.1% (1 mg in each ml).

  • We offer DuDerma in two versions. One is formulated with proplylene glycol (PG), the other is without PG (PG Free).

Both versions can be selected from the product Options (next to the product price).

If you are not sure whether you are allergic to PG, you can choose the regular DuDerma (with PG). Approximately 15% people are allergic to PG with symptoms such as itching scalp and skin rashes.

This topical dutasteride product is without any minoxidil or finasteride. It is a dutasteride only product.

  • Unit size: 60 ml (2oz). If you choose 60ml x 3, you will receive 3 units, each with 60 ml.

Concentration: 0.1% (1mg in each ml)

Each unit comes with a dropper.

If the concentration is too high for your purpose, you can dilute DuDerma with the PG Solvent, or DuDerma PG Free with PG Free Solvent. If you mix one unit of Duderma with one unit of the Solvent, you will get 120 ml (4 oz) of 0.05% dutasteride solution.

  • Dutasteride is a type I and type II 5α-reductase inhibitor (Finasteride is a type II 5α-reductase inhibitor only) . 5α-reductase is an enzyme that converts testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Excessive amount of DHT in scalp is believed to be responsible for hair loss.

Can Dutasteride be Absorbed through Skin?
  • You may know the 500 Dalton rule, which says any molecule with a molecular weight (MW) over 500 Dalton is difficult to be absorbed through skin.

Dutasteride is 528.5 Dalton. Thus some people question if topical dutasteride is effective. An article discussing the 500 Dalton rule can be viewed here .

In the article, it has the figure below. It shows the penetration rate of a molecule through a normal skin (NS) decreases rapidly when the molecular weight (MW) is over 500 Dalton. However, the rate does not become zero until MW reaches 600 Dalton. The penetration rate of dutasteride (mw: 528.5Dalton) is estimated to be still >50% if the figure is accurate. This means dutasteride can be absorbed through skin, althought it may not be as fully as smaller molecules.

In addition, we have no doubt that dutasteride can penetrate skin based on the feedback of our customers (see the product review at the end of this page).

Dutasteride with Other Ingredients
  • We also offer a product containing dutasteride with minoxidil (brand name MinoDuta), and a product containing Dutasteride, finasteride, and minoxidil (brand name FinoDuta).

Please be advised that any dutasteride containing product is for research only. It is not intended for the diagnosis, treatment, cure, or prevention of any disease or condition. Please familiarize yourself with the product and use it at your own risk.

Great Results
I'm male and have a a receding front hairline, which got much more noticeable recently due to stress. I started using DuDerma about 10 weeks ago and my hairline has improved immensely. I use the product twice daily. Love the resists. I'm amazed and very satisfied.

Very good product
As DuDerma is more potent at lowering DHT compared to Finasteride I’ve been using a super low dose of DuDerma which equates to 0.1mg daily. I mix it with 2ml of NO PG solvent to help with scalp coverage as I’m a diffused thinner. So far so good and as you may notice from the before picture and now current picture there is definitely a improvement. I will start to incorporate Dulagen-5R to my routine once it arrives to see if this helps with anymore regrowth and will do a update once I’ve had some time with it. Hope MinoxidilMax can bring a 5% RU product out too as believe that this would cover all bases in scalp androgens and maximize hair growth.

Great Product
Great product, would love to see this in combination with minoxidil and other products.

Reply From Seller : Thank you for your suggestion. Now we offer MinoDuta (minoxidil with dutasteride) and FinoDuta (minoxidil with finasteride and duasteride).

Just wanted to add - although PG is a bit of a nuisance- it is one of the most effective vectors for taking other molecules through the skin and that includes the scalp - I noticed the comments regarding PG free solutions - some people have a slight allergic reaction to it but if you don't, use it, because as a carrier it will work much more effectively than any other substrate you used to get products through the skin epidermis

Please offer a topical dutasteride solution without PG.
This is a good stuff but the PG is killing me.

Game changer
I have been using this for a few months now and have noticed some major improvements in hair regrowth - I have been using it in conjunction with 15% minoxidil max solution- - I use the 15% minoxidil in the morning and the Duderma around 6.00pm - then 15% minoxidil at night- Unlike finasteride - the DuDerma blocks both of the reductase (1 and 2) enzymes that convert Testosterone to DHT which weakens and destroys the hair follicles- I honestly think the DuDerma could be a game changer regarding hair loss in men

Would love a version without PG
Many hair loss sufferers are allergic to propylene glycol, unfortunately so am I. I would love a version of this without PG.

Reply from Seller Thank you for your suggestion. We do have a version without PG now.

First product which has ever worked on me
This is the first product which has ever worked on me. I have used minoxidil and finasteride with no regrowth. I have only used this less than a month and I could definitely see new hair growth. Thank you minoxidilmax for making this product.

Reversed balding
I had a clear bald patch on the crown and receding at the front. I have used this for months and whilst it has not 100% covered up nor is it hair transplant thick I am no longer bald. I'd say my hair has gone back about fifteen years in time. Which at my age is about as good as you can expect. With Fint/Dutasteride it is best to think they will stop you going more bald rather than getting insane growth. Yes you can be lucky. And the earlier you tackle your hair loss the better.

Seems to work
As I was young and did not want to be bald, I had a hair transplant. At the beginning, everything worked out well. I used minoxidil regularly, but it had a little effect on hair loss. I found topical dutasteride when I was almost desperate about my progressive balding. So far, it seems to work, at least the progression of hair loss seems to have stopped. Good thing is that I have not noticed any side effects (for example, with finasteride pills had loss of libido). I am looking foward to long term results, as I have used it only for a couple of mounths.
